The exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of set designer and architect Josef Svoboda is organized by Josef Svoboda – scenograf, o.p.s. together with the Gallery of the Central Bohemian Region GASK.

The visitor will meet a chronologically arranged selection of representative productions, original scenographic designs, scene models and period documentaries - but above all the visitor will be drawn into Svoboda's magical world through audiovisual media, large-scale projections, dynamic image and sound, which mediate Svoboda's fundamental scenographic approaches and at the same time they emphasize the transcendence of his work to the present….

The exhibition is realized under the auspices of the Minister of Culture of the Czech Republic Lubomír Zaorálek and the President of the Central Bohemian Region Jaroslava Pokorná Jermanová

The exhibition will take place with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, KKCG Development a.s., the State Fund for Culture of the Czech Republic, the Central Bohemian Region and ČEPS

The partners of the exhibition are: Institute of Arts - Theater Institute, National Theater, Archa Theater, Opera Plus

are professional meetings organized by European theater institutions and schools on the initiative of Ms. Christine Richier, Professor of Lighting Design at ENSATT Lyon. It was last held in Madrid in December 2019.

Another was to be held this year in connection with the jubilee exhibition at GASK Kutná Hora. Unfortunately, it had to be canceled due to the Covid 19 pandemic – info link.
